Dr. Fort was born in Sanyati, Zimbabwe, where his parents served as missionaries. He received the bachelor of science degree from Texas A&M University, College Station, and the master of divinity and doctor of ministry degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Fort is married to Leigh Ann Harrison of Fort Worth, Texas. They have four children, Sarah, Giles Harrison, Kathryn and Elizabeth.
Dr. Fort has served as a summer staff worker at Glorieta (N.M.) and was Pastor of Macedonia‑Hix Baptist Church, Caldwell, Texas. He has served the IMB in many capacities:
♦ Appointed missionary in February 1985.
♦ Language study in Lerato, Bophuthatswana, 1985-86.
♦ General evangelist in Maun, Botswana.

1997, living in Maun, Botswana.
